About Civic Log
A personal monitor for local government in Spanish Fork, Utah. It reads public meeting notices so a resident does not have to read every agenda, and flags the hearings worth showing up for.
How it works
- Every morning a GitHub Action reads the Utah Public Notice Website for each body below and saves any new or changed notice. The commit history is the change log.
- Claude reads each new notice, its agenda and its attachments, and writes a short summary: what is happening, why it matters, and what a resident can do.
- Each item is tagged and scored 1 to 5. A meeting is marked Attend when it holds a public hearing on a high-impact item or touches a topic on the watch list.
- Attend meetings go to a calendar feed and an email alert. A weekly digest goes out on Mondays.

Ground rules
- Summaries come only from public records, and every one links its source.
- An applicant's own description of a project is labeled as such, not stated as fact.
- Elected and appointed officials are named with their votes. Residents who comment, staff and applicant employees are not named.
- AI summaries can be wrong. The notice and its attachments are the record.
